in the Black Madonna Guild
On Thursday of every week Mass is celebrated at twelve o'clock
noon in St. Josaphat Church.
The intention for these fifty-two Masses will exclusively be the
members of the
Black Madonna Guild. We invite you to enroll members of your family,
friends and neighbors, both living and deceased in this new spiritual
society in our parish.
The donation is $50 for each name submitted.

Up-Coming Events at St. Josaphat Parish
Thursday, November 27th, Thanksgiving Day - Mass will be offered at 12:00 noon followed by the novena to the Black Madonna and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Come and thank God for all his blessings.
Monday, December 1st, Knights of Columbus open house in the parish hall after the 7:00 PM Mass. All Catholic men are invited. This will be an opportunity to meet the members of our Bishop Plagens Council a consider becoming a member of this important organization.
Thursday, December 11th, our monthly parish council meeting. This meeting is held at the Rectory or our cluster partner parish Sweetest Heart of Mary, 4440 Russell Street at the corner of East Canfield Avenue. Please note that the time has been changed from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM as an attempt to allow more parishioners to be present and take part. Please consider attending these important meetings as we chart the course of our beloved parish. Your ideas and opinions are important!
Sunday, December 14th, our monthly fund raising dinner at 1:00 PM in the parish hall. This month's dinner is sponsored by our cluster council of the Knights of Columbus. The menu will feature baked ham. Tickers must be purchased in advance. Call the cluster offices at 313-831-6659.
Saturday, December 20th, 9:00 AM decorating of the parish church for Christmas. Decorating the church or Christmas is something everyone can get involved with, both young and old. Many volunteers are needed to handle this big project.

OPLATKI - Christmas Wafers Now Available
On the communion rail of the church you may obtain packets of oplatki or Polish Christmas Wafers. Together with the wafers you can find a brochure that explains the custom of sharing the wafer and prayers to accompany this important and holy ritual. How could you begin your annual celebration of Christmas without this beautiful old world custom? Donations collected for the wafers will be used to help keep our church up and running.
